Philosophy/Nuts/Bolts

In case you haven't read my profile, I'll repeat it here...I enjoy coaching, I don't do this for a living and therefore only work with a handful of clients at a time.

This approach allows me the luxury of giving you lots of one on one time either over the phone, via email, and when geographically feasible; in person...and I don't set limits on numbers/types of contact per month (unlike other coaching services) as long as the frequency of contact remains reasonable.

Additionally, it's important to me to have a good working relationship with my clients; therefore you won't be obligated to a "set" number of initial months of service. If, after a month (or two, or three...) you don't like the direction we are headed in our work together. You are free to go. It this sounds like an agreeable approach, we're partially there...keep reading.

Here's how it works: I will work with you to build an annual training plan which is based on an annual allotment of TSS points. Don't worry if you don't know how many points you had during the previous season, I'll work with you to reverse engineer an annualized TSS figure. This training plan will be customized around goals and targeted races and allows for the precise planning for peaks and monitoring for over training.

About those TSS points...If you know what TSS is, then more than likely you have a power meter. If not, you'll need to get one as my services require that clients 1) have a power meter, 2) know how to use it in the field, and 3) know how to upload your power data to Training Peaks consistently and correctly (I'll provide you with a Training Peaks account).

One more thing. I'm fairly compulsive in my expectations that you follow your training plan precisely. Too many unplanned and therefore unapproved disputes of the Tuesday Night World Championships, "extra" miles or "extra" minutes, and I'll fire myself from being your coach.

There you have it. See the Services/Pricing page for my fees and contact me if you would like to have a free, no obligation, initial consultation.
